“I went in with no legal experience or legal education, so I was a little apprehensive and nervous on my first day. I had no need to be worried at all, my supervisor, Maria, asked about what I did have experience in and what I was interested in. My tasks were varied and interesting, and I was easily able to bring in my other educational and professional skills, I had the opportunity to write blogs, conduct research, and summarise case law. I always felt supported in my tasks, and never like I couldn’t ask questions or be proactive if I was stuck on something. I was based in the complex immigration team but was able to work alongside the UK immigration team as well, and really enjoyed being able to learn about and experience the different work that each did!
